You haven’t heard these guys yet? Well.. YOUR LOSS. The West London alt hip-hop duo YOUR LOSS are back with a bang, presenting their highly anticipated second album (II). The duo consist of producer Ramon and vocalist privacydied who are both beginning to shine in their own individual right. In an era where many may be struggling, their new release is the perfect soundtrack to see you through the darker times, and bring that much needed euphoria into your lives.
Through the release of their new album (II), YOUR LOSS have been proving that there is no limit how far their creative juices can flow. The duo continue to push themselves, but their increased efforts are heavily displaying that the continuous graft is paying off big time. The 8 track LP is a culmination of influences the duo have experienced throughout their life, as they draw upon a variety of genres such as grime and hip-hop all the way to punk and emo. (II) is the duo attempting to express their anger at how they wasted their younger years. Although the journey to where they are now showcases exactly how their younger years were not wasted. In fact, the emotions of their journey into adulthood perfectly manifests itself into every beat, in every song from the LP.
“No we ain’t new to this, I’m alone at the top, quick shuffle and bop, no I just do my ting, big man just does, YOUR LOSS”
(II) covers all bases for every fan of music. The album ventures all the way from the mellow and thought-provoking Vantablack, to the mesmerisingly passionate Fuck Around And Die, but the best thing about it all, every track has its own unique beat, with its own unique story. However, quite possibly what stands out the most about them is that despite their humbleness, they are very well aware of how great they can become. On their track Effy Stonem they rap: “No we ain't new to this, I’m alone at the top, quick shuffle and bop, no I just do my ting, big man just does, YOUR LOSS”. There was a time when the GOAT, Jay-Z, explained that if you don’t believe in what you’re doing, then you may as well not be doing it. These guys are super charged with self-belief, and it shows. They are heading straight to the top.. But they already know this. Go check out YOUR LOSS, or it really will be your loss.
