Toronto is filled with what we consider mega producers, from 40 to Boi-1da, the city is filled with talent that have broken into the mainstream, creating some of the most prolific songs of our lifetime. Enter Eestbound, if you are a Travis Scott fan, this name should ring a bell… if not, let’s break down why Eestbound inserts himself into hip hop royalty from a producer standpoint.

For beginners, he is the one of the masterminds behind the hit single Antidote alongside Wondagurl. The Holland born, Canadian bred producer has since produced some of the biggest hits from some of our favourite artists out to this date. This includes the likes of Young Thug, French Montana, and Young Dolph to name a few. His style shies away from the typical Toronto sound that most of the world is used to hearing and adding his own flavour to an evolving style of music. He goes more of an alternative route, accompanied with 808 that you cannot miss. His style is made for the underground, but he has proven to be a commodity in the mainstream market as well.

Once signed to Wondagurl’s imprint, he has since branched off to focus on his own endeavours. Working more with artists from Toronto, he has hits with the likes of Sean Leon, and Dillon Ponders. He also makes an appearance on the 6ixbuzz debut mixtape producing the singles Don’t Talk - Bizz Loc & Roney, Ah EE - K Money, Prince Dawn and Yung Tory, and Porsche - Casper TNG & LB Spiffy. With producers like him working closely with artists from the city, this shines a huge light onto the scene in Toronto, he provides a way for artists, who are able to wrap their fingers around his sound, to elevate to different heights. This shows that the music scene should be looking closer at Toronto as a whole as we have a lot of talent coming out of the city at a fast pace.

As much as his mainstream achievements are to be highlighted, I personally wanted to showcase his work with some of the best talent to come out of Toronto. My personal favourite would be Turf by Toronto's own Sean Leon; listen and you will understand why this producer is gifted in every level. Be sure to be on the lookout for what Eestbound has in store next as he continues to elevate the game out in Toronto and Canada as a whole.
