We are all capable of making mistakes from time to time, but Rasharn Powell’s new track ‘Blunder’ is nothing of the kind. To be honest, it’s really quite the opposite. Rasharn Powell has a fascinating story of how he got to where he has, growing up in a predominantly female household, he learnt from an early age that the most influential people were those that surrounded him. His mum would make huge sacrifices for the family financially and physically to ensure that Rasharn would be able to pursue a career in music, and wow, even we are thankful for her. The music that Rasharn is now producing is simply sensational.

As one of the only black students in his secondary school, Rasharn was regarded as an outcast by his peers, but he never let that hinder him. Instead, Powell began to believe in his uniqueness, which now heavily manifests itself within everything he does. Rooted in the London R&B scene, Rasharn explains that his music is for “those individuals who don’t fit in with what society expects from them”. And this is partially why Powell’s music is so good. There is so much substance and emotion to it. The music goes so much deeper than just a stunning melody and cool beat, there is meaning to it. In a world that forces labels onto everything, Rasharn has never allowed himself to be contained. He is living proof that you can make it just by being true to yourself.
‘Blunder’ is the first single that Rasharn Powell has dropped in 2021, but he’s got so much more to come having just announced his debut project ‘Dusk & Dawn’. On his latest single, Rasharn fuses old-school nostalgia with present-day greatness as he paves the way for his own form of R&B, Soul, and Hip-Hop throughout. What happens as a result of this, the listener can take full pleasure in the brilliance and uniquity of Rasharn Powell. Produced by Gianluca Buccellati, who has previously worked with Arlo Parks and Tei Shei, we witness Rasharn strip everything back as he offers us an insight into his inner turmoil with love and women. This is not one to be missed, and his debut EP ‘Dusk & Dawn’ is something to get seriously excited about.
