KidSoSteez has returned with his wicked new single ‘Hunna Pounds’, giving his listeners a taste of his genre-bending intentions, and it is sounding so, so sweet. Growing up in a music-orientated household, Steez’s introduction to music began when he would listen to his step-dad’s vinyl collection, citing the likes of Shania Twain, Tiffany, and Michael Jackson as his earliest influences. Steez quickly understood the importance of expressing himself in order to develop his already extravagant character. Moreover, his passion for skateboarding during his teenage years immersed Steez into the culture of hip-hop, kickstarting his musical career.
“Flying like a rocket, and I ain’t stoppin’”
Evident through the influences of his step-dad’s vinyl collection, combined with his introduction to hip-hop through skateboarding, you notice immediately how these influences shine through his latest single ‘Hunna Pounds’. The track fuses mainstream pop and new-gen melodic rap. On a journey to create modern-day greatness, he uses his fearless spirit as the driving force behind his insatiable desire to pave a career within music, ‘Hunna Pounds’ comes at a very exciting time for Steez. Having recently joined forces with ‘Local Geezers’ producer Ted Loco, who has previously worked with the likes of Kamakaze, Eyez, and Ashbeck, as they work together on a forthcoming collaborative EP, expected to be released later this year.
It feels as though Derbyshire-based rapper is growing stronger and stronger with every release, and perhaps he sums it up best in ‘Hunna Pounds’ as he sings “Flying like a rocket, and I ain’t stoppin’”. Exciting words, from a very, very exciting artist.
