I’ve been listening to a lot of lo-fi music recently as I work, I can’t really meditate properly but it’s music like this that really clears my mind.
I’m also one of those weird people that loves rain. Seanote’s soothing production gives this song a rainy, dreamy and calming atmosphere that does wonders to help me concentrate. It reminds me of the way that Nujabes’ Feather used to be my go-to mind clearing track. That blend of Asian influenced hip hop has always had a calming aspect to it.
YEHAIYAHAN’s incredible voice makes the listening experience almost hypnotic as she alters your mindset with her meditative tone.
Finnoh’s bars are like a self help book in a song. But I’m not talking about a cheesy Tony Robbins session, I’m talking about a spiritual journey narrated by a wisened monk. Finnoh’s ataractic flow aligns with his lyrics “Ashes to dust, not in a rush, surfing the gust, heavens above, waterfalls gushing…”. I’d love to have these two on speed-dial to help me get through some shit.. but I guess I can just spin this track and get a better perspective.
