When it snows there is always a huge amount of chill that accompanies it. This is no different to Wayne Snow, as whenever he sings, there is a guaranteed chill that comes with it. Wayne Snow is a Nigerian-born neo-soul artist who has been channeling the soulful and enchanting vibes of his homeland through his latest release ‘Seventy’, and wow, it is just so silky smooth. Now based in Berlin, Snow has been spreading his warmth and unique vision worldwide together with Roche Musique, and it just feels like with every release he gets better and better.
‘Seventy’ is the lates release from Snow’s most ambitious project yet. Three years in the making, Wayne has been working towards his biggest conceptual, personal body of work that showcases the depth and reflection that Snow has put into his craft. It is a body of work that critically analyses humanity’s obsession with fake personas and our creation of avatars. It is a finger up to those that carry themselves in the way in which they wish to be seen by others, essentially saying, just be yourself. Moreover, through ‘Seventy’ Snow is showing himself off in the brightest light he possibly could.

These overriding themes are prevalent throughout the song, all fused together with intricate weaves of soultronica, neo-soul, and alternative pop, specially made in the form of a warm, slow jam. It is simply stunning. What’s more, the video that accompanies the track further enhances the beauty of the track. Shot in Tankwa Karoo National Park near Cape Town, South Africa, the film pays homage to Afrofuturism and the vibrancy and stunning landscapes of the South African desert.
Wayne Snow is a seriously captivating artist. It just feels like whatever he does, it almost becomes compulsory to stop what you’re doing and pay attention. Whatever you do, do not sleep on this guy.
