Fireboy DML Tips the Scales to Afrobeats With 'Peru' Remix alongside Ed Sheeran

Fireboy DML released his breakout album Apollo in 2020, since then he’s collaborated with artists like D Smoke on “Champion” and created a new gem with a remix of his hit song “Peru”.

Peru first dropped in July 2021. The original track reached #1 on the UK Afrobeats official chart and #1 on Apple’s Top 100 in multiple countries including Nigeria, Ghana, Uganda and Tanzania. Now it’s remixed and re-released with a feature from four-time grammy award winner, Ed Sheeran. With three number-one singles in 2021 alone, a feature from Ed Sheeran provides the perfect formula to move any successful song from national to a global audience. 

Peru hit 8 million streams in less than 4 days, knocking Mariah Carey’s Xmas tune from its number one spot on the Apple Chart and became the number one trending video on YouTube music. Success is no small feat but Fireboy DML shows how much further he’s looking to go.
