With the recent death of MF DOOM (all caps), the hip hop world took a hit losing one of its most gifted artists. But that does not mean his influence in the game has dwindled away, it is evident throughout multiple artists. This is what the vibe of Cutlass Supreme give me, it’s classic, just like the car the song pays homage too. The production of this song brings me back to that MF DOOM / J Dilla type of vibe.

The lyrics is strictly wordplay, no short of the word there. The song gives me an old school vibe to its core, it has a really 90s New York City feel to it, think of a Mos Def feel. With the old school flow shining through the song, it properly pays homage to the classic Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme, hence the name of the song. It shows class through and through and shows the listener that although the old school vibe is, old school, it will never die away.

I strongly give this song a 8.5 out of 10, its a show of bringing the game back to its roots. Kev Brown and J Scienide do a very great job in showing that. It shows us why the game is what it is today, the sound might be different, but the vibe it gives you is still the same. No matter whether you are a young person or a seasoned soul, this song will definitely give you something to nod your head too.
