GUEST MIX 041 // DANNUNN
LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM
DANNUNN has what could be described as an off kilter sound.
Employing a unique combination of influences and employing a depth of knowledge spanning from hip hop, reggae and afrobeat to techno, bassline and jungle, DANNUNN works to create soundscape music that utilises a plethora of rhythms purposely designed to shift your ears into life.
Utilising heavy, jarring sounds and the meatist bass he can find, his sets take you on an uxexpected sonic journey, with the sole purpose of making the people dance.
A veteran scratch DJ and highly regarded turntablist, under the name of CRAZY2COOL, DANNUNN honed his skills in the vinyl era. Now fully acquainted and reformatted to the digital Djing realm, he employs loops, mixing, live re-edits and a host of fx to produce a uniquely ‘live’ feel to the music whilst it is being mixed, a feeling that endures with each recorded mix.
Having grown up in High Wycombe, he is part of GrimeHouse. Founded back in 2002, Grimehouse is a hub of producers and creatives from which sprung the likes of celebrated artists such as My Nu Leng, as well as many up and coming Drum n Bass DJs and producers such as GrimehouseDNB and Dub General.
Now also producing his own solo projects as well as with North London baseline crew Basement Dubs, DANNUNN has had a variety of other music related work and experiences, dropping sets mixing West African sounds with eclectic and obscure hip hop beats to performing freeform jazz/hip-hop with live bands at Unit 13 in Cable Street, also playing his part for the live house band who later became known as Blue Lab Beats.
Keep your eyes peeled and ears to the ground for more heavy vibes and enchanting mixes from DANNUNN
